Lance's obituary

Lance James Rapscher, born in Los Angeles California, 11/7/54. Died 9/13/22 in West Covina, California.

As a young child, his father's career took the family to various places in Southern California and Utah.  In 1967, his family settled in Walnut,  California. We met at Suzanne  Jr. High and then migrated to Walnut High in 1969 through 1973.

After high school, we both enrolled at Mt. San Antonio Community College in Walnut. After two years, he transferred to Cal State Fullerton, graduating in 1977 with a BA in History.

We had a couple of jobs together in the restaurant industry while at Mt. Sac. Later, Lance found work in the railway industry spending over 30 years with Amtrak and then Metrolink, the Southern California  rail system.

Lance was his own man, even as a kid.  His tastes in music, books and movies were way different than mine. We did find lots of common ground.  We saw countless movies at local theaters.

Lance faced health challenges both mental and physical throughout adulthood. His retirement years were very difficult for him. Unfortunately, these issues got the better of him on the 13th of September, 2022.

Rest easy, my friend.   Lance leaves behind friends and relatives who will miss him.
