Lamar's obituary
Mr. Lamar Williamson, age 75 of Lyons, died Saturday, March 9, 2013 at his home. He was a native of the Normantown Community and lived all of his life in Toombs County. He was a 1956 Graduate of Vidalia High School and previously was a radio announcer for WBBT in Lyons and WVOP in Vidalia for eleven years. He worked with his brother at Williamson’s Used Cars for thirty-seven years and was Baptist by faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Vela McLeod Williamson.
Mr. Williamson is survived by one brother, Bobby Williamson and wife Nancy of Lyons; two sisters, June Norris of Chesapeake, Virginia and Carolyn Gay and husband Carroll of Garfield; and several cousins nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be held Monday, March 11th at 10:00 am in the Pinecrest Cemetery with Reverend H.G. Ridgdill officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9:15 until 9:45.
