I am Kyle's step father- but the very first time I met him, he was 4 months old in his carrier in the cab of his mom's truck. Little did I know, a year and a half later, he would become my first child-even though I wasn't his biological father. He started calling me Dada when he was 18 months old, and I was there ever since. His passing is very very hard on those that loved him. I remember when he was 1, at his birthday party he had a small blue cake- and he wore 90 percent of it! He looked like a Smurf! Love you always, Kyle!
I miss you so much son. I can't function my grief is so overwhelming.  I keep expecting to have you call and say "hi mom" even 6 months later.  I always thought I had been through just about every painful thing in life but it never prepared me for losing you. I am so sorry I wasn't a good mom to you. I regret so much. I just hope you are at peace now. Maybe some day I can forgive myself and find peace too.

Kyle, I miss the hell out of you, kid. I wish you were still here with me and your mom. We both love you very much. My heart will forever be shattered.
