I recently had lunch with a former colleague from the IKON days and the first question I asked was, how in the hell is Stickfort. It was bitter news that he's no longer with us. I worked with Stick for 18 months during a carreer transition, but the conversations and friendship belied the brevity of our connection.
I had occassion to attend a couple of neighborhood gatherings on Franklin, and recall appreciating how gracious and engaged he was, as host and neighbor. He introduced and shared stories about literally every person attending. I appreciated his professionalism and candor regardless of context; and the way his aspect shifted anytime he talked about his sons which were his greatest source of pride.
I'll miss him a lot.

I just learned of your dads passing. he was a kind fun thoughtful guy. he was a bank customer of mine back in the day… and we realized we lived around the corner from each other in windsor heights. you boys were in grade school. i would run into him once in a while after i moved.. .. and talk about our fun laughs. and he would brag about his boys- he was so proud of.

Jack, Gary, and family- I worked with Kirk for a long time at IKON. He was a funny and sometimes gruff guy but he was ALWAYS fair and kind. When I worked directly for his account Norwest that became Wells Fargo, everyone could hear him holler "Crandell" when he needed something! It was always followed by his laugh that was unforgettable. Your dad made sure I received bonuses when applicable, which he didn't have to. He worked hard and expected it of those he worked with.
Even after he left, he would always have a big hug and smile when we ran into each other.
I will always remember him with the utmost respect and a great fondness.
My sincere sympathies and may he rest in peace. Jen "Crandell"

Remembering Kirk and all the fun we had growing up—kickball, and roller-skating in the summer, and epic igloo-building, and ice skating in the winter. He was the kind of funny that made every game better and every day brighter. Grateful for those memories. Rest easy, Kirk.

So very sad to hear of Kirk's passing. He was my neighbor growing up, I have so many fond memories of Sheryl and Kirk. A few years his dad built a skating rink in the back yard so we could skate in the winter time and so much more. His grandmother lived across the street from them growing up and his parents were out of town so she was watching them but before we could go do anything he had to clean his room, he put it all under the bed and said she can't get down there to look so I'm good. My sympathy goes out to his family.

Kirk meant so much to so many, but to me specifically he was an amazing uncle. He was always there to help and give advice with the biggest smile. He was so thoughtful and caring, always having the best of intentions. He always told the best stories, but was a great listener as well. All around the best uncle a nephew could have had. I’ll miss you so much, Uncle Kirk. I Love you!

I have the fondest memories of "Stick" from our days in college (UNI) together. I cannot remember once seeing him without an ornery smile on his face. Thinking about saying goodbye and farewell to him really hurts.

Jack and Gary as well the the whole family you have my deepest sympathy. We lost a friend a dad and a grandfather. Kirk and I always kept up with each others kids so I know how proud of you two boys he was. He also spoke a lot of his grandkids and how happy that made him. Kirk touched a lot of people in his life me being one of them and I will always cherish our time together. I know you will carry on the STICK legacy with your children. Sometimes we have to let go but we will not ever forget his presence in our life and the mark he left on us. May God bless his soul.

I would not have made it through algebra class, had it not been for Kirk and Eric Nelson sitting by me! The two were a blessed comedy team that kept me laughing!

Kirk was such a fun cousin. He always would make us laugh and his laughter was so contagious. He was upbeat and happy always having some kind of prank up his sleeve. He took after his Uncle Jack Stickfort. He will be missed. Prayers to the family.
