Amazing what a horse can do….this beautiful horse led us to the Rasmussen family where they instantly became family.   Even when they moved to Texas we still visited with them.  One summer when we were out there, Kim took us to lunch then shopping at her friends western store.  We had the best time and everyone in town loved seeing her.  We felt right at home with her.  My grandmother and her friend would travel down and watch Kris cut and visit with the Rasmussen’s.  I loved that my grandmother also adored Kim. Time went on and Facebook came around, we’ve been friends on Facebook for years.  Always commenting on our families adventures. Even though we’re thousands miles apart, I’ve always felt connected to her. She always had the most thoughtful and loving comments about my kids.   Recently we’ve been corresponding more and she sent a video of Rob riding his horse- in the video she kept bossing him around “Ok dad, turn her to the right, stop her”….then she chuckled when he got off.  When she told me the news, it was earth shattering, soul crushing- but she had such a positive outlook. She continued to send me pictures, and commenting on my Facebook posts.  I will forever be thankful for our friendship and appreciate our love for horses for that’s what brought us together.  I hope she’s riding all the good ones up there- that puts a smile on my face picturing her riding Little Tom.   My condolences to her family and hope you can find peace someday. -Sadie.

Kim, friends since cutting in the youth, many years ago. I’m really shocked by the fact that you have now gone on before so many of those who will miss you terribly! My prayers are for those you’ve left behind. I’m sure you are in a glorious place with endless fresh cattle to work. 🙏🏻

Thinking of you all during this trying time. Kim brought a lot of laughter into my families life and was always so happy and full of joy. I will miss her fun-loving, and caring personality. Whenever I was around her, no matter the situation she was always upbeat and full of laughter. Such a joy to be around. She was very close to her family, and that was known for sure.

Praying for everyone that knew her, she will definitely be missed.

I’m so very sorry for your loss. I worked with Kim at RRMC for many years. She will always hold a special place in my heart. Her compassion for others always was so inspiring. She was always quick to share jokes and tell funny stories in the break room. I miss my friend and I hope she is watching over you from a Chuy’s table on a beach and surrounded by horses! Rest In Peace Kim and may our Lord grant your family peace and healing.
