Kim's obituary
Kim Marie Johnson, 65, of Dalton, MA, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026, at her home, surrounded by the care and love of her family. She was born on July 18, 1960, in East Hartford, CT, to John Morgan Smith and Geraldine Mae Smith (Jones).
After graduating from Taconic High School, Kim dedicated many years to a career in healthcare, providing compassionate nursing care at Berkshire Medical Center and several area nursing homes. She was known for her kindness, patience, and unwavering commitment to those she cared for.
On August 27, 1983, she married the love of her life, Jeffrey Lee Johnson Sr. Together they shared 31 wonderful years of marriage and raised three beloved daughters before his passing in 2014.
Kim is survived by her daughters, Malinda Daly of Dalton, MA; Candace Hescock of Lexington, NC; and Tristin Pearson of Lakeville, CT; along with their spouses and children. She also leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Glenn Wayne Smith.
Kim was a gifted crafter and jewelry maker. Alongside her husband Jeff, she co-founded Berkshire Natives, where they shared handmade Native American crafts and jewelry with the community. Later in life, she used her creativity to develop a line of natural skincare products. She also held a deep passion for spirituality. Following the loss of her husband, she pursued religious education and went on to serve in ministry, offering guidance, comfort, and faith to others.
Kim was known for her generous spirit, creativity, and deep compassion. She will be remembered for her fun-loving nature, steadfast friendship, and her devotion as a loving grandmother and mother.
Funeral services for Kim M. Johnson will take place on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Martin Memorial Chapel in the Pittsfield cemetery at 203 Wahconah St, Pittsfield, MA.
