Late June Kevin and Denise visited us a Topaz. Scot and me took Kevin fishing on our boat. Kevin caught at least twenty trout and was quite pleased. When Scot asked to take a picture of Kevin with a good sized trout Kevin's answer was truly Kevin..."No need to take a picture I can't see it anyway" God bless him he never let his situation get in the way of a good quote! Rest In Peace Cuz.
Dearest Kevin, your kindness and compassion will ever serve as an example of what I can strive to emulate. A gentleman, whose love of family and friends was made evident in every word and deed. You are in my heart, kind friend. Dear Denise and family, please know that he constantly spoke of you with love. Kevin had the fondest memories of family and growing up in New Jersey.
What more can be asked of a life beautifully lived. Blessed by knowing Kevin, Lucía ♥

The McGrath and Spangler family siblings were cousins growing up together in NJ. Kevin being the youngest of the 5 older Spangler siblings and 3 McGrath boys, he was often considered the "runt" . But he grew to be the best volleyball front man at our annual family picnics, and of course always spread his infectious humor and fun, especially at family gatherings. We are truly shocked and saddened by his loss and all he had to share with everyone in his life.
Lots of love, Kev, we'll always remember "hot dog".

Imagine my shock when I received the August newsletter from the Society for the Blind. I am living in Eugene, Oregon now, however, last summer I lived in Carmichael/Sacramento. I attended the Senior Impact Program and had a great time. Kevin knew I had stamina issues and pain issues and he was always careful not to have me overdo. He also came to my apt to show me the best ways to get around at my new apt complex. He was a great instructor and he taught me stuff I didn't know even though I've been a cane user for years. He was concerned that I not fall, on one hand, and tried to assure the staff and my neighbors that I would be okay getting around, on the other hand. I remember his love of cookies, which I share, and his tunes and rhymes to remember things. One thing I've really taken to heart that I learned from Kevin is to roll my wheelchair back against the wall, and lock the brakes before getting up. I am using a walker most of the time now and using the brakes reminds me of him. I will remember Kevin's instruction, his humor and his caring. Lauren Merryfield
Denise and family my sincerest condolences on Kevin’s passing. Mikey and I appreciated all that he did for us when we ventured up to live in Sac from SF. “Foot” will always hold a special place in our hearts ♥️.
