Mr. Kevin P McGrath, born on May 4, 1954 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, to the late Ruth and John McGrath, passed away at age 64 on July 3, 2018 in Carmichael, California. Kevin was in the Telecom field until he retired to begin a career as an educator in the non-profit industry. He worked as an instructor at the Society for the Blind in Sacramento where he taught visually impaired people necessary life skills. Kevin had a passion serving others and regularly traveled to lead outreaches for the Society for the Blind's Senior Impact Program. He inspired everyone he met and would always be available to anyone who needed him. Kevin loved to fish and enjoyed tracking the weather. He loved life and people and especially loved his wife and family. Kevin was happily married to Denise McGrath his wife of over 29 years and was preceded in death by his brother, Larry McGrath. Kevin is survived by his stepsons, Chris Whitley, Jeff Whitley and Mark Whitley; brother, Jim McGrath; sister, Mary Green; grandchildren, Anna, Allyson, Ashley, Owen, Jake, and Parker and great-grandchild, Faith. The family invites donations in Kevin's name to the Society for the Blind: societyfortheblind.org/proces…. The memorial service is to be determined.
