Many years ago I was lucky enough to have this most beautiful soul walk beside me for a time.
I feel incredibly privileged to have known such a man. Wether he knew it or not he had a rather profound impact on my life. His carefree roaming around our wild and breathtaking world is what my love of solo travel was born from.
He was full of wanderlust, adventure and genuine goodness.....I was most dubious of him.
I still to this day use packing tricks he taught me. Although I always quite smugly take the credit, when my kids look at me with a tiny bit of awe as obviously I'm very worldly(I vow to thank him every time from now on... but only silently in my head, which is as good as it gets from me)
I have flown business class once in my life,of course with Kent and thanks to Kent.God it was awesome, sauntering in there at 22 like royalty, which in my young head I was most deserving off.Magnificent it was.
He gave me experiences, opened my eyes to a far bigger world and inspired both the courage and bravery within me to pursue my own dreams of travel and exploration independently. A gift I am forever grateful for.
For 26 years a silk top from China has hung in my wardrobe(its the real deal),a memory from when we were both young together.Im glad to have known him, glad to call him a lifelong friend and glad to have had the opportunity to spar with such a fast and intelligent mind....with which I could never truthfully keep up so had to use a quick tongue and somewhat defiant nature instead(I think now maybe he humored me).
Arohanui my old friend,I love you always
Claire xoxo

In August 2023, we went on a boat cruise around Lake Union, through some canals, and into Lake Washington. It was on the lovely old wooden boat that sails out of MOHAI, of which I forget the name. I snapped this one when the sun was getting ready to set.

2023, Queen Victoria Market, Queen Street, Melbourne VIC, Australia
After COVID, on our first trip back to Australia, Kent managed to join us for a couple (or few... not many) days. Walking through the Queen Vic Markets in Melbourne, after looking backwards for a moment, I took out my camera, and desperately tried to not walk backwards into people while capturing a rather candid moment. Kent totally managed to spot the camera and smile at the right time.

2022, Deception Pass, Washington, USA
In 2022, we went camping at Deception Pass, walking around the pebble beaches, Leah and Kent were intently looking for stones to skip. I was playing around with the slow motion video feature of the iPhone, trying to get one of them skimming stones really well. I got a *lot* of video of "plunk", but a still frame (this one) I think captures a bunch of the moments there.
