I am a friend of Drew’s. We came down to Virginia in January 2009 to go to the inauguration of Obama. Ken and Shonnie treated us like family. I don’t remember every detail from that trip, however I remember how Ken hand-strained the orange juice for me because we were all talking about pulp vs. non-pulp an I was in the non-pulp camp. So he took my cup and strained it!!! We also were talking about dessert one night and I mentioned my favorite. The next day he came back with a goant Costco chocolate cake just for me!!! We got to see them again when they came to visit Drew and he took us all out to dinner. I didn’t know him well, but it felt like I was with my own grandfather- in fact they probably would have been great friends. He was such a kind mind and I feel lucky to have known him just a little. To Drew, Shonnie and the whole Johnson family, I am truly sorry for your loss.
