Kay's obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kay Lapole, who left us on June 16, 2023 at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA. Kay was born on April 17, 1961, to parents Loretta Kretzer and Eugene Speaker, who have both predeceased her. A loving mother, wife, grandmother, sister, and friend, Kay's warm-hearted presence will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Kay is survived by her husband, Ronald Staley and her two children, Brianna Corn and David Lapole Jr. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Brenton Lapole, Willow Corn, and Elayna Corn, relishing every moment spent with them. Kay's family was her world, and she took great joy in their successes and happiness.

In addition to her immediate family, Kay leaves behind her brother, Roy Speaker, and sister-in-law, Melody Speaker. She is also survived by her cousin, Terria Deloso, and son-in-law, Shawn Corn. Kay's memory will live on through the love and care she shared with her extended family.

In addition to her parents, Kay is preceded in death by her step father, Harold Kretzer.

As a dedicated wife and mother, Kay always put family first by spending most of her time with her grandkids and her beloved dog Teddy. Her love for family and warm spirit will forever be remembered by her family and friends.

Kay Lapole lived a life full of love, laughter, and happiness. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

A cremation will be performed so no services will be honored. However, due to the sudden financial burden, we ask that in lieu of flowers, donations can be provided to her daughter to help with final expenses.
