I worked with Kathy for the 20 years she was at Cypress, she actually planned to retire twice before actually retiring. Kathu kept saying I can't leave all my kiddos who will make sure they are doing what they are suppose to. Kathy enjoyed her work and everyone at school loved her, even the kids she had to remind about doing the right thing. She was Grandma Kathy to all. Even after she moved she kept in touch to see what was going on and was Cypress okay. I will miss a good friend, she will always be remembered.

So sorry for your loss. Kathy was hilarious at work, especially hearing her on the radio. I'll never forget how she kept asking me for my student ID the first couple years I taught at Cypress. We'd see her around on the weekends-- at Home Depot, etc. She checked in with me often on campus after my husband passed away. She had a tough, feisty exterior but was definitely soft inside.

Kathy, may God bless you and keep your family safe. You meant so much to the Cypress H.S. community and you commanded respect from everyone. We all felt safer with you on campus because we knew nobody would dare mess with you.

It saddens my heart to know that Cypress HS will no longer be graced with Kathy’s presence. For so many years she spent her days looking out for us children, easing the minds of our worried parents with her dedication to our safety. We obliviously grew up and ran around those halls feeling as if we owned them.. but we all know who really owned the hallways! Thank you so much for protecting us and providing us all a safe place to learn and socialize for all these years. It didn’t matter whether we were loitering around, sneaking out of class, or getting grilled for wearing clothes far too inappropriate for children in a school setting, we could not deny the pure love that we had for our dear security lady. May you forever protect us from the evils of this world.

Kathy is a legend ! Some of my fondest memories are our little chats we’d have on the golf cart. Occasionally friends and I would ditch or go off campus for lunch, shame on us lol, but Kathy was always around ready to chase us down hahah whenever she did manage to catch us her voice was stern but always words filled with love. Upon graduating and moving further into adulthood I have nothing but love and mad respect for a human of her caliper. She’s a one of one they just don’t make em like you anymore. You will be missed and loved forever thank you for everything.

Got to know Kathy quite well in high school because I was always double parking and she would always pull me out of class to move my car.
She was always so funny and gracious.
Glad I had a chance to get to know her better the years after graduation.
Rest in paradise Kathy, hope there are lots of cats up there.

Kathy was one of the most funny and sarcastic people I have ever met. I will remember her always. I will never forget how she would come into the office for coffee with her big red marine cup and always say, "Well, damn it...." as she walked out. :)

This is one of the last texts I got from her: "I try not to go out or drive in snow. My son from calif is coming out when I have my surgeries. He's been wonderful! Both my boys have. So lucky!"

She loved her boys and her cat. :)

Glad to have known Kathy.

Kathy had a huge heart. I worked with her at Cypress High, and she cared about the students & staff. I will never forget her zipping through campus on her golf cart, and stopping in my office to say hello -- often with a donut! She will be missed. Sending much love to the Johnson family.

We will miss Grandma Kathy! She was a very thoughtful person. She never missed a birthday card or anniversary:) She was so proud of her two sons and 5 grandchildren. We will love and take of her two cats Nemo and Kayla. Rest In Peace 💕

My Mom loved NFL football, especially the Cowboys. She equally loved being a Grandma!
