My deepest condolences to his wife, kids, and family. Great and humble Warrior of a man. We both met at The Basic School. Both of us being prior enlisted and having many similar shared experiences. After leaving TBS there was only one officer I would reflect on. You! You were always humble, kind, patient, and calm amidst certain pressures being placed on us all. You were that model officer who showed how to calmly push past menial and mundane tasks and assignments and do it with joy. I appreciate your example and who you were for all of us.

I miss you Sir. Top and I always keep you in our mind. I hope I run into you one day in the streets guarded up above. My brother, friend, and mentor.
Captain Failma was my mentor in Hawaii when I first commissioned as an officer. He would always tell me (as well as say it at briefs) that alls you had to do in the Marine Corps was “Give a shit.” This was his main message to me and it has always stuck with me. I loved Captain Failma and I’m sorry to his family for their loss. He is a great man.

Justin,

I can't believe it. When I heard of your passing, I was in disbelief. It still seems unreal. I just go back to our times at PCHS and ROL. You were a brother who accepted me even though I was different... probably because you were a little different too. I loved listening to you struggle in Spanish class. You were always talking in class and Sr. Escobar would try to bring you back with simple questions which you would answer incorrectly, but with the most confidence!

Teacher: ¿Como te llamas?

Justin: Sí sí. ¡Muy bien señor!

I think I Iaughed every day we had that class (probably why I still don't know any Spanish). As I listen to and see others share their memories of you, I know that you were someone truly special to touch so many in the way that you did. I'll never forget you Fa-lee-ma. Love you brother ❤️

My deepest condolences for his family. Prayers to the family and friends and everyone that his precious soul has touched. I remember when I first met you in science class.I was the only “upper class man” in there. But what you said to still sticks with me today. Even though you started regular Ed late, atlest you are improving. You’ll get to where you want to be in no time. Even though you were younger then me I thought to myself what a wise kid. I’ll always remember the times you’ve helped me out in science class. Telling me it’ll get better. Just gotta work hard at it. I love you brother.
Justin and I both worked with Bryan Laudencia for commissioning. We were both prior enlisted, and used to work out together with the candidate pool. Lots of early morning memories. Justin was a great mentor and motivator, he'll be missed!
