Julie Marie Scarbrough-Smith passed away in Ocala, FL on September 20, 2025. She was born to Donald and Alyce Scarbrough on April 26, 1958 in Cadillac, Mi, the eighth of eleven children. Julie earned a Master Gardener certificate from Michigan State University and always grew beautiful flowers. Julie also loved animals, especially cats and horses. When she was a teenager her parents bought her a horse named Jude that she loved and enjoyed for many years. Julie rescued many cats and gave them a loving home.

She is survived by her son Mathew Lee Smeltz (Nicole Frost), her grandchildren Sarah, Samantha and Alexander. She will also be missed by her siblings Rand Scarbrough,  Janet Agostinelli (Daniel), Sally Campbell, David Scarbrough (Marcia), Stefanie Boyle (Sean) and Gregory Scarbrough (Gina) and her many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Terry, her brothers Kevin, Paul, Brian, her sister Lynda and her nephew Nicholas.  The memorial service will be arranged at a later date.
