Julian JJ's obituary

Julian "JJ" Jones grew up share cropping with his dad Cooter Jones, mom Lottie Mae, and six siblings in Hopeulikit, Georgia. Later in life he found himself in Gaston, South Carolina, where he ran the Texaco for 28 years. He was known in Gaston for his ice cold Coca-Colas, 25 cent grab bags of candy, hot boiled peanuts, and gently used tires. JJ was also known for his generous soul by having numerous BBQ benefits and fish fries to better the community and people of Gaston. JJ didn't really know a stranger and he typically greeted everyone "hey Cuz". JJ was a loving father, grandfather, and an avid fisherman. No fish was ever to small for JJ!

Surviving are his three sons, Bucky Jones(Girlfriend-Julia) of Gaston, Ted Jones(Rebecca) of Gaston, and Michael Jones (Sharon) of Gaston. His brothers, Jearl Jones (Janice) of Georgia, Earl Jones (Jean) of Georgia, and Ernest Jones of Georgia. Grandchildren, Susan Mitchell, Ted Jones Jr, Kayce Jones, Danielle Jones, Trenton Jones, and great grandchild, Phoebe Mitchell. Several loving neices and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother Lottie Mae Jones, father William Henry "Cooter" Jones, sisters Sara-Jo Ennis, Cassie Mae Hughes, and Arley Ann Morris.

The family will be having a private funeral for JJ. They would like to thank the medical staff of Lexington Medical Center Intensive Care Unit, dear family friends Chris and Weezie English, and all the friends and family for the phone calls, food, and visits.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that if you would like to donate, please do so to a charity of your choice.
