Mi Prima Linda fue siempre la acogedora y carinosa persona que recibio en su casa a muchas personas de la familia en los momentos mas dificiles para nosotros. Encontrarnos con sus hijos y su esposo y tener una empatia instantanea fue algo que nos ayudo a todos los que pasamos por alli a comenzar una vida nueva. Ella era portadora de la parte mas noble de nuestra familia. Sus consejos, orientaciones y sobre todo su amor, siempre estaran en nuestros corazones.

My memory of her is always of a woman full of joy, gentility, humor, and, above all, a deep satisfaction in being a wife and mother; she cherished those roles and loved her children with abandon. Entering the Guldris home was to forever enter a space where one immediately encountered the loving fragrance of family, not to mention the intoxicating air coming from her latest culinary endeavor she was working on in her kitchen. It was a family as we once knew and cherished in this world. And they exemplified that unity and love.

Siempre para mi fue una mujer ejemplar, al modo de las mujeres Cubanas más finas, clásicas, y a la vez sumamente humilde, sencilla, pero no sin sus picardías de humores y comentarios geniales y sucintos . Gracias a Dios nos deja sus creaciones preferidas, sus hijos, quienes guardan el reflejo de esa cara siempre sonriente y llena de amor, para consolar.

Aleida was a true born nurturer and a chef “de primera”. I ordered two frozen arroz imperiales to take to San Francisco in the early 90’s to share with my husband Jerry’s family. It was an instant hit with my newly acquired American family. Aleida graced my visits to her home with a gentle sweet smile. I will remember her always as she passed on my birthday. Pauly, Aly and Jacko-Lantern, may you find comfort in knowing you gave Aleida the most wonderful life filled with love and joy. She is now resting with our beloved God and the rest of her family waiting to greet her with open souls❤️
