"What I have realized is people are asking for simple solutions that just do not exist. However vitamin D3 is about as close as one that they are going to have!" -Dr. Judson Somerville, May 21, 2025

I met Judson in 1980 when we were both members of The Tejas Club at The University of Texas. From the start, Judd stood out- smart, broad shouldered, athletic and confident, with strong opinions and a deep sense of purpose.  He was always in study mode with his backpack, filled with books, never far from reach. He was fully committed to his goals.  Later, in Laredo, I came to know that he was thoughtful and kind hearted, a dedicated advocate for his patients, and always generous with his time and talents. We will miss him deeply. Rest in peace friend, my friend.

Dr. Somerville saved my life in 1996 when I was just 22 and battling debilitating Trigeminal Neuralgia. After searching the country for help, he was the only one who truly understood and treated my pain. I will forever be grateful for his compassion, his skill, and the hope he gave me when I had none. Now, as a pharmacist, I strive to support and advocate for others living with chronic pain—just like he did for me. God bless you, Doc.

I so very much enjoyed and benefited from the information he shared online.
I have known “Doc” since 2007. He helped me with my pain when nobody else could. I would fly in from Boston, with multiple layovers to come see him. He was an amazing, kind, empathetic man. My pain went away after some time and I no longer needed treatment. In 2019, my pain returned with a vengeance so I once again sought out Dr. Somerville’s help. He was unable to treat me this time as a doctor but that didn’t stop him. He would continue to try and help me, as a friend. I visited him a few more times at his home in Conroe and we did many fun things together. We went to an Astros game and to a fair. We went from being a patient/doctor relationship to friends. We would call each other and talk on the phone for an hour or more. Doc was such a smart, kind and all around wonderful man. I will miss him dearly and think of him often.

I met Judd when we were self publishing our books. We corresponded, helped each other, became friends. He was kind, caring, warm hearted and generous. He will be greatly missed.

I knew Judd from the Tejas Club at UT.  He was one of the nicest and most inquisitive people I’ve ever met. So sad to see him pass at such a young age.  May the fires of friendship forever burn.

Was so sorry to read of your passing Dr. Somerville. You were one of the first guests on my podcast and I treasure that experience. You offered your time and knowledge to so many. I know you loved animals and you were a kind gentle man. Your legacy will continue. My thoughts are with Judson's family at this sad time. May you rest eternally well and I thank-you Sir, my life is richer for having met you.

I truly believe. Dr. Somerville , by his book,  and messages - on Facebook to my husband personally - he saved my husband life ! ♥️. We sure will praying for his precious family!  He had so much knowledge,  that no other doctor helped us with.   We went to Mayo 4 times; as my husband has axonal peripheral neuropathy, that turned into CRPS (suicide disease)!  He told me, he was writing a book on CRPS and fibromyalgia.  Thank you, Dr.  Somerville- The Optimal Dose: Restore Your Health With the Power of Vitamin D3  and your knowledge and care- has rescued us!   You changed the world in a wonderful way.  God bless your family and we send much love and prayers!  John and Dena Beeler in LeClaire, Iowa ♥️🙏
