Joyce E. Rayburn, 93, of Ashland, Kentucky, died January 8,2022 in Woodland Oaks Health Care following a brief illness. She was born in Ashland, Kentucky the daughter of the late Charles F. and Ethel Wheeler Powers. Joyce was a homemaker, enjoyed gardening and sewing. Joyce attended Ashland High School. She was a caring compassionate friend to all who knew her. She attended Pollard Baptist Church for years and served as a Sunday School Teacher and attended Unity Baptist Church later in life. She was married in 1950 to the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Rayburn who preceded her in death. Joyce is survived by a son, James (Valerie) Rayburn, Bull Frog, Utah; a brother David (Cheryl) Powers of Florida. Grandchildren, Abraham (Alesha) Rayburn, Ashland, Kentucky, Amelia Rayburn, Tucson, Arizona and Lucas (Merlyne) Rayburn, Tucson, Arizona. Great Grandchildren, Brooke, Triston, Ayden, Maya, and Malia. Several nieces and nephews. Special friends Mark and Johnda Stambaugh. Others who preceded her in death, three sisters, Jo Anne, Jennie, and Marcelles, Five brothers, Garland, Clifford, Fred, Herman, and Charles. A private graveside service is planned for a later date. Steen Funeral Home is in charged of the services.
