Joyce Brown Quarto was born in Havre Montana on May 21, 1928, but grew up on a farm in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. For years before her brother was born, she was her father’s constant companion in caring for animals and helping with outside farm chores. She later married and had three children: Terry, John, and Paula. In 1956 she moved to Tucson where she became a beautician, eventually owning her own salon. After moving to …
