Joyce was born in Bell County, Kentucky. She was raised in Lexington by a hardworking father, Elisha Collett, and a devoted mother and homemaker, Lina Green (Collett).
She raised a family in Louisville, Kentucky and was the mother of four children.
Joyce lived the latter half of her life in Florida, moving from Kissimmee to settle in Saint Petersburg, where she became affectionately known as “Granny” to her grandchildren. Anyone fortunate enough …
