This girl with gorgeous curls confidently walks into the college cafeteria, gets on a table and captured everyone’s attention as she promoted one of the plays her theatre group was staging. —That was my first encounter with Joy.

She was two years my senior in school but our paths always crossed because of common friends.

Fast forward to many years later, when I moved to NY and again, common friends helped us reconnect.
She was just as I remembered her from our college days...full of life, confident, jolly, funny, talented, easy to be with, and real.
We will always remember her as such.

When I think of Joy, I see her singing with that stellar voice of hers, smiling and having fun—just as she is probably doing in heaven right now.
Rest In Peace, Joy.

My heart breaks for Jerome, Ayla, TJ and all who know and love her. Joy had such great energy and very recently got a puppy, who she named Faith. She was thrilled, so much happy and excited, she was like a little kid. I loved seeing her like that. She was a talented singer and sometimes I would hear her beautiful voice from outside the house. Such a great loss, and so very sad. But she gave the gift of life to others, so she will live on forever. ❤️
Joy sang at our wedding in 2011. For our first dance, her French/English rendition of "La Vie en Rose" was so beautiful!! We watched some of their band's performances over the years. She was a dear, sweet person and her voice brought "joy" to so many. She will surely be missed. Our sincerest sympathies...

I am in shock at Joy's sudden passing. I only knew her briefly at Episcopal Relief & Development, but she was a pleasure to be around and a fierce "get it done" worker, with a wonderful sense of humor. My heart goes out to her family and friends.
Holding Joy's memory in my heart and thinking of her family, friends, co-workers and loved ones.
Joy and I worked together at The Actors Fund. I loved our conversations, singing, dancing, being silly, laughing, working on events together. Joy was always there to help and support others no matter what. She was also the life of the party - always wanting to get her friends together to sing karaoke, grab a drink, and relax. Her amazing spirit and love of life was a blessing to so many you crossed her path. I know she is singing and dancing elsewhere and will always find a way to brighten someone's day and make her surroundings full of Joy. You are missed and love and will never be forgotten. XOXO

Sending prayers and love to Joy's family. It was a true gift to have worked with and learned from Joy. I am so grateful to have known her.
Joy was a delight - quick and smart and funny, with a great laugh and a good dose of courage. I will cherish the memory of her spirit. Renata
Sending my condolences to all of Joy’s family and friends. Joy and I worked side by side for a decade. She was such a great coworker and also a great friend. She was a bright part of everyday. Amazing at her profession, a joy to be around, very caring , and one bad ass singer who knew how to rock the stage. She was always so willing to give and help with everything. I’m so sorry she was taken so soon. Sending my love to everyone. She will be missed by so many.
I had the pleasure of working with Joy in her most recent position at Episcopal Relief & Development. She truly embodied her name. Joy was talented, funny, brave and so full of life.

Even though she just started working with us in March, it felt like we‘d worked together for years. She was a gift to our team and organization overall. She will be deeply missed by all of us.

Keeping Jerome, Ayla, TJ and Joy’s entire family in my prayers.

Joy's name says it all! She was a joy and a delight. A lovely, fun and feisty spirit. We started working at The Actors Fund days apart almost 14 years ago. Rest in God's Arms my friend.

I am so so sorry that Joy is no longer with you and all of us at The Actors Fund. She will always live, sing and dance in my memory.
Joy took me under her wing as soon as I joined the Actors Fund team, and her dedication to the cause was inspiring. I will miss her witty commentary, fun-loving attitude and loyal friendship. One of my favorite memories of Joy is seeing her perform with The New Agenda Band! She had a beautiful singing voice and brought so much life to the stage.

Sending my sincere condolences to Joy's family.
