Blessed to have had the Joy, Joy, Joy (where?) Down in my Heart
Kind and witty,
delivering perfect punchlines and sassy sarcasm when needed most.
Funny, loving,
her beautiful, infectious hearty laugh would pour from her office,
invariably eliciting my smile across the corridor.
Gifted painter, sketcher, and word connoisseur,
a gentle, thoughtful communicator.
Mentor and friend, protector and motivator,
generous, helpful, dependable.
Cheered on others, unconditionally uplifting, nonjudgmental, present and supportive,
adventurous spirit, amusing, and totally adored.
Reserved, practical, low-key, humble,
amazingly dedicated nurse who’d sit quietly with patients,
holding their hands, providing safety, encouragement, and assurance.
I’ll miss being one of your ‘elephants’, our water cooler conversations about
A Million Little Things, Abbott Elementary and The Bear,
and score-keeping the huggers, high-fivers and fist-pumpers.
A quiet void fills our support group where you have been most impactful,
the calm to their storms --connecting with each woman – you spoke to their soul.
Beamed with pride to have the fulfilling role of best auntie – playful, inspirational, their go-to.
Rest peacefully knowing you secured an irreplaceable, deep, special bond to your beloved kin.
You followed your own path, Joy,
leaving an exemplary, undeniable legacy for the God-fearing life you led of
forgiveness, love and service.
Miss you dearly, Jennifer--
