When I first came to ASU, I barely knew my uncle Josh. Within my first couple weeks of school, I got covid and had to quarantine for two weeks. He let me come stay with him with no hesitation. A few weeks later, I was moving out of the dorms into an apartment with some friends I made at school. Unexpectedly, the school only gave me a few hours to move all my belongings out. I called uncle Josh, and he was there immediately to help me move (we had to take 7 trips back and forth in his tiny convertible). Ever since then, Josh and I became besties. I will miss our frequent trips to get sushi or coffee. He was always there for me for whatever I needed. He would take me to the grocery store and let me borrow his cars whenever he could. I'm glad I had the chance to get so close with him the last 4 years.

One summer when we were back in Bourbonnais after college ended for the year, Josh called me around 9 pm and asked me if I wanted to go with him to Chicago. He needed to run a few errands and hit his apartment. He said a few hrs or so. I said sure, he was my boy. We hit his apartment, then a club (we weren't 21 yet), then another club. Josh knew people. 9 pm went to midnight, then 2 am and so on. I ended up sleeping in the car on the drive back to Bourbonnais. I think I got home around 6:30 am the next morning and then went to work.
That was Josh, he always knew the plan, and we just went along for the ride. But it was always a blast. Â

I had the pleasure of becoming friends with Josh through one of his best friends. Some of my best 20-something memories include Josh (and gang!) Josh was the life of the party and his smile and laugh were infectious. As I look through stacks of photos, it makes me smile! It was a simple time of life and we had the best time! My condolences to his family and close friends. He will be greatly missed.Â
