Joe was born in his family’s home in Graham, Oklahoma to Floyd and Fanny aka Paul Byrd. Joe proudly served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War after which he worked many jobs most of them consisted of driving some kind of truck. He met the love of his life Billye Sue Asbery later in life and the two of them married on December 31, 2002 after several years together. They were extremely happy until Sue’s death on February 26, 2016. Joe loved to dance, sing and play the guitar, he also enjoyed fishing and going to as many of his grandkids activities as he could make it to. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Drusilla and his wife. He is survived by his daughter Holly Mix and her husband Eric of Texas, son Rodger Taylor and wife Mitzi of Arkansas, stepsons Rickey Asbery and wife Tildy of Wilson, Oklahoma, Billy Asbery of Ravia, Oklahoma. Two brothers Frank and wife Ethylene of Healdton, Ok and brother Jack and wife of Texas. Seven Grandsons Jessie Mix, Jonathan Mix, Jason Taylor, Dylan Asbery, Dusty Asbery, Roy Asbery and Maliq Raymond. Five granddaughters Katrina Asbery, Kristen Copley, Ashley, Hannah and Susie Brokaw. Five great granddaughters Emma, Hannah, Savannah, Hadleigh Jo and Danielle and two great grandsons Kaden and Oliver. Special niece Jeannie Goodman and nephew Jody Garret who stayed and cared for Joe in the last months. Plus many other nieces, nephews, cousins family and special friend Dwayne Castleberry. A memorial service will be held for Joe Thursday September 20th at the Church of Christ in Healdton, Ok at 11am. There will be no graveyard service at this time because Joe ever giving as he was in life chose to give in death and donated his body to help fight and cure cancer.
