I met Jonathan on Smule sing in Country Roads. In the time that I interacted with JD as we all called him, I clearly saw what a kind and caring man he was. His voice whenever I sang with him was simply magical and his smile always so bright.😔. When I heard the news, it left me numb and unable to react at all. We all at Country Roads love JD and will never ever forget him.

JD as Johnathan once told me that his Dad gave him the name.  I met JD on The Smule singing app about 14 months ago, he came to our singing group Country Roads and immediately made an impact with everybody.  He became a leader shortly afterwards and the rest is history bringing in other talented members through auditions and word of mouth, we also did countless group songs and collaborations.  JD and I would have conversations away from the Smule app and became friends, we would talk regularly about life, sports and music.   My wife and I live in Southern California, she is the owner of our Smule group so needless to say there was quite the distance from where JD lived and us however we still managed to make it work.   We were all suppose to meet this summer in Tennessee at some point, I’m just so sorry we didn’t get to make it happen.   I will miss my dude tremendously as he had an infectious personality, I am so sorry for your loss Wood family.  Prayers out to everybody especially JDs kids, may Johnathan Rest In Peace with our Lord Jesus Christ.  God Bless!

I met Jonathan on Smule where he was loved by many for his love of singing. He always made me laugh with his intros and outro's talking about what he was doing the year that particular song was made . He really made you feel welcomed no matter if he knew you or not. His wide range of notes allowed him to participate in most songs weather he was doing Harmony or vocals or backup he knew how to entertain and he did so in Grand Fashion.
He will be missed tremendously.

R.I.P Jonathan, although we never met in person , I feel as though I lost someone close to me in the one place that I would go to get away from everyday stress. I could always count on you to brighten up my darkest days.

My deepest sympathies to the family. My heart aches for you. I met Jonathan on Smule. He is incredibly talented, but that’s not what drew me to sing with him. I could see that he was one of the kind ones. But after getting to know him for awhile I found that he was so much more than that. He was so generous with his talents and time, listening and commenting on nearly every join. He spent more time singing with everyone that had joined him than opening his own. He was just selfless. He was so adored by so many for his humor and energy. Wore his heart on his sleeve and reached out to others when he noticed they were down. I couldn’t have gotten through a very tragic event in my life without his heart of gold. He will be greatly missed by me and so many in the Smule community.
