  • Hi All, my name is Roger, john was a member of our little country group called "Country Flavored". He came to my house with Frank and Ben on a beautiful spring day. He came to audition for our little group.  As soon as he hit the first few notes, I smiled at Frank, and i knew that he was a good fit. He kept saying how much he loved the kind of music that we played. He was very knowledgeable about mixers and sound systems. He showed up at one of the Gigs with enough equipment for two bands, he was just trying to help with the sound. John had a big heart, and just wanted to help and be a part of the band. I will never forget looking over at him as we played, he had a smile from ear to ear, and at the end of the Gig, he would thank us for letting him play with us. John will be dearly missed by all of us. I wished that he would have let us know how sick he was, so that we could have been there for his last days., maybe that's the way john wanted it. We wish you happy trails, and it was a pleasure being your friends. Roger, Frank and Ben.

Sorry for this loss of a fine musician and great person. My condolences to the family from one of the guys in the circle who enjoyed his work

I met John when he stepped in to add bass to the 82nd Street band. His kind and gentle way is something I will cherish. He was a wizard when it can to playing. I will miss his low notes dearly. Sincere condolences to his family and friends. See ya on the other side my friend.

I met John in this past spring when he was gracious and trusting enough to allow me to test out a PA system before paying for it in full—no contract, no personal info, just instinct; that was John as I knew him. When I returned the PA system, we learned about each other’s music. He passed the audition with the Country Flavored Band immediately, and then also joined me in the 82nd St. Band. His talent, thoughtfulness, and selflessness enhanced our music. His comradery added to our lives. We will miss him.

I'm so sorry for this loss. John had the biggest heart. He welcomed me into the family even before I was officially a part of it and he shared his genuine love for me after knowing me only a short while. He was once kind enough to give my ukulele a tune-up and his eyes lit up when he talked about or played music. I'm really glad we got to see him and have him over for Thanksgiving. I believe he's looking down on us and sending us signs he is okay and would want everyone to live their lives fully, surrounded by the things, people and activities they love, and of course, with good music.

Marybeth, my heartfelt sympathies for the loss to you and the  family  of your sweet brother. Jake was a dear friend from way back and will be sorely missed.
