John was a dear friend,  mentor, and kindred spirit. We shared a multitude of common interests. Within a ten minute conversation the subjects could range from a WW II Japanese submarine Captain, to Leonard Cohen, to the miniature comics that came in a Bazooka Joe bubblegum wrapper. He will be dearly missed.

My prayers and deepest condolences to Jenny, Chesna & Johnny and the family, and his many friends.

Mr strain always said how much we touched his heart but I don’t think he understood how much he touched mine! He will forever be my adopt pop pop! I will miss you so much and I promise to look over Jenny for you! I love you !
