Kiran asked that we share what we've been posting on FB here so that the kids she shares with John can read it, but I'm not sure my FB ramblings about college are worthy of a true, lasting condolence. What I will share is that today a friend from my summer at Penn State (1995 -- I've seen him once since them, but we're connected on FB) reached out to say, "I hadn't been in touch with him in years, but I used to work with John! What happened?" I brought him up to speed, and we exchanged kind words about John, because no one, and I mean, no one, has anything but kind words about John. That's what I think John's kids should know, and I wonder if they realize just how rare that is. Most of us were teenage dirtbags once, but not John.
