John's obituary
John was a passionate, inventive, and visionary leader in smart grid technology, renewable energy, and energy storage, working for XCel Energy, CODA Energy Storage Systems, and most recently as vice president of Commercial Applications at EPC Power. He was deeply committed to innovating new business models for clean technology, improving processes and efficiency, and advocating for policy changes to create a sustainable, clean energy future for his children and the planet. His raw intelligence, drive, and self-confidence were balanced by his humility, integrity, and brilliant sense of humor. John embraced a good challenge and never settled for the status quo. He was a trusted ally to colleagues throughout his career.
John was an avid lacrosse goalie, the neighborhood dad, and genuine friend to all. He greeted everyone with a smile and a warm embrace, experiencing the world with wonder and marveling at the simple pleasure of spending time with his family. John is survived by his loving wife of 23 years and college sweetheart, Fiona Bryan; three children, William, Henry, and Katherine; brother, Peter Bryan and mother, Jane Bryan.
