From Susan Beverly, John's Sister-in-law: I am so sorry that you have lost a wonderful, sweet, kind, loving, awesome husband and I have lost my favorite #ONE brother-in-law in the whole wide world! He meant so much to Jerry and me, Krista, and Kevin.
The gates of Heaven have opened wide for the trumpets to play for John. And the Angels are singing "Hallelujah!"
There wasn't anything that John couldn't do.
He loved football, he joined the Army to honor his country. He married you, Sharon, and he loved you dearly. He enjoyed fixing you wonderful dinners after a busy day of work.
John loved to go to the movies on Friday night and enjoyed going out to eat at your famous wonderful Dairy Queen, or his famous wonderful Steak House. And when you came home from the movies, John would call Jerry, and tell us that the movie was a "5 thumbs up!" We will miss our "5 thumbs up."
Sharon you were an awesome caregiver for John. When John needed to call to go to a Doctor's appointment. What a beautiful shining light and a loving wife to John.
John made happiness to you Sharon, and made happiness and smiles to others along the way.
Sharon, God Bless You My favorite sister-in-law in the Whole World.
Mary C. Stromire, a friend of Susan Beverly donated to USO in John's name today. We are so grateful for the remembrances, and knowing that they will be a gift that keeps giving.
Cindy Griffin: He loved all children and enjoyed being around adults as well my best memories were at the Methodist Church at Abbeville GA he did some funny stuff and I think he mostly loved Kevin to spend time with he like kidding Kevin with that big stuffed turkey and he loved taking him hunting and fishing. Another great memory we had with him was a trip we went on with him and Sharon we went everywhere in their van we had a great time
Patti Mier One of my best memories of John was the time he made us shepherd's pie with venison. It was so incredibly good! Then there was the time, Sharon, when you two lived in Orlando. We went to go get pedicures. John came with us and he even got a pedi too. But a gator football game was coming up and John got one big toenail painted orange and one painted blue. We laughed so hard together. Only a real man would do something like that! --Patti Mier

A Fisher House is “a home away from home” for families of patients receiving medical care at major military and VA medical centers. The homes are normally located within walking distance of the treatment facility or have transportation available. There are 76 Fisher Houses located on 24 military installations and 32 VA medical centers. Many more houses are under construction or in design.
Someone donated to THE NVHS MISSION TO ELIMINATE HOMELESSNESS AMONG VETERANS IN CENTRAL FLORIDA in John's name. Please read the details about this worthy cause.
Founded in 2008, NVHS is a community-based organization formed by veterans with the goal of locating and assisting the 1,300 and more homeless veterans that are currently living in the parks, woods, and streets of Central Florida, and to get them off the streets permanently. What makes NVHS truly unique is the fact that we tackle homelessness directly where it thrives…on the streets of our community. Unlike every other homeless service provider in the State of Florida, who wait patiently for homeless to reach out to them, we proactively go out to find our clients where they live, provide basic needs to ensure their survival and build rapport, and then connect them to any community organization that offers a service beneficial to them, rapidly moving from homeless to housed.
NVHS MEANS - NATIONAL VETERANS HOMELESS SUPPORT

On July 18, 2018, an amazingly memorable day for me. I was baptized, and to witness the event were John and Sharon. I was so blessed to have them there to celebrate with me!
John's memorial will be held at 10:00 a.m. this Saturday, June 30 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 1250 S. Main Street, Bountiful Utah. His funeral will be held at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, Florida July 9th at 10:00 a.m. He asked that instead of flowers, send donations to a worthy service group that help veterans. Thank you all for the kind thoughts, words and deeds. It helps me greatly. Please post any remembrance you like. Let's celebrate who he was and who he has become. Heaven has a new angel. Amos 5:8 (look it up and get blessed!) Love you all.
Bethany Farace I wish I could be there but I will be sure to make a donation in his name. My best memory and one I tell everyone is how that man liked his steaks cooked. (Raw), but he was most skilled with venison.
Brenda McGaha Of course our trip to Helen Georgia is my favorite...and one day we will meet again..perhaps by the River of Life !!
Rhonda Henderson He used to tell me how he liked to cook! He loved my grandchildren who road his bus. He was a kind spirit!
