Johanna was a great friend of mine during our high school years I recently heard this news and recalled a letter I wrote to her before she went off to college.

Through my own inability to make a long distance friendship work, I lost touch with Johanna. However; Johanna will always be a part of me and I’m sorry to all those she left behind.

Mark,

I am on the Board of Directors for ACCTS. I lost my wife of 32 years in 2010. I have 8 children although they were teenagers and adults at the time of my wife’s death the grieving process is long., full of unexpected turns and valleys. May God truly comfort you in this time of overwhelming loss.

I wrote several articles about the whole grieving process that may be helpful and can be found on aquilareport.com>, search “Brad Winsted”.

Because of Him we can face tomorrow.

Irondale girls having fun at Andrea and Chris's wedding. The partners we chose in life have complemented us well and I am forever grateful that Johanna has brought Mark, Kelsey and Colleen into our lives. Love you Jo, we have so many fun memories to take with us thanks to you :-)

We had the most wonderful Christmas week with Mark, Jo and our beautiful granddaughters, Kelsey and Colleen. Every day was Coronation Day! We had lots of laughs and we just loved having the family together. We love you all and will always be there for you. Jo will remain in our hearts and her memory will live on! XO

Mark - my family and your many friends here at Christ Community Church in Pompano were devastated by the news of Johanna's passing. It was our pleasure knowing your family for a few years and sharing together, seeing Kelsey grow from baby to little girl and big sister to Colleen. Johanna was clearly a joy to so many within and beyond our small community and she will be missed. We are praying for you, the girls, and your greater family as you mourn.
