Joan Carole Wells went home to Jesus on March 22nd, 2022 at age 75. Joan was born at Delnor Hospital in St. Charles, Illinois to William and Zelda Metzger. Joan married Thomas F. Wells on June 17th, 1967 and went on to have three children. Joan worked for Illinois Bell, Western Electric, AT&T, and Lucent Technologies in West Chicago, Illinois. Joan moved to Omaha, NE in 1994, where she retired from Lucent Technologies 2 years later. After moving back to Illinois, Joan began another career path with Walmart, where she worked for 15 years. During retirement, Joan was able to continue much of her time and efforts as a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, sister, avid student of Christianity, gardener, sewing aficionado, cake decorator, crafter, home remodeler, cards and dominoes group member, and family events leader. Throughout Joan's entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. Joan joins William (Zelda) Metzger, brother Timothy (Joy) Metzger, aunt Mildred (Joseph) Todd, cousin Joey Todd, and nephew Greg Prill in Heaven. She is survived by brother David (Patricia) Metzger, sister Paula (Richard) McIndoo, sister Lisa (Steve) Henrikson,  son Brian (Tiffany) Wells, daughter Beth (Robert) Napp, daughter Jamie Eskew, and nine grandchildren.
