Joan's obituary

Miss Joan Johnson, age 71, of North Augusta, died Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at Treutlen Health and Rehab in Soperton after an extended illness. She was a native of Mt. Vernon and moved to Swainsboro in 1966. She was a 1968 graduate of Swainsboro High School and a 1972 graduate of Georgia Southern College in Statesboro earning a BA in Fashion Merchandising. She was a buyer and fashion merchandiser for Neiman Marcus, Belk, Talbots, and Accessory Village. She was a member of Warren Baptist Church in Augusta. Joan was extremely fond of her furbabies, Barney, Jaycee, and Jake. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph E. “Joe” Johnson and Lena Currie Johnson; a brother, William Randall Johnson; and sister, Alice Johnson Phillips.

Her family includes two sisters, Mary Bridwell and husband John of North Augusta, South Carolina, and Karen Vereen and husband Van of Swainsboro; one brother, Richard Wayne Johnson and wife Charlotte of Griffin; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be Monday, December 27th, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Adrian Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Long Pond Cemetery in Montgomery County.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday morning from 10:00 until just prior to the service.
