A native of Toombs County, Georgia, she was a daughter of Winfield Fred Sutton and Eviedell Warnock Sutton. She was a finance secretary with Household Finance in Jacksonville, worked with her first husband Eddie at Eddie Edwards Wrecker Sales and Service in Jacksonville and her last job worked for Pioneer Paper that supplied paper and food products to restaurants and manufacturing.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Atkinson was predeceased by her husbands, Ludolphe "Eddie" Edwards and Stephen Edward "Steve" Atkinson, Sr.; and brothers, W.D. Sutton and Royce Sutton.

Mrs. Atkinson is survived by her sister, Freddie Finklea of Keystone Heights; sister-in-law, Christine Sutton of Jacksonville; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Community Hospice of North Florida.

 Funeral Service will be 11 AM Friday October 12, 2018 in Evergreen Chapel. A visitation will be held in the chapel one hour before the service.
