Jerry's obituary
Jerry , born on August 26, 1950 to Buck & Ida Arnold in Houston, Texas immediately brought joy and laughter into the world. Jerry went on to graduate from La Porte High School in 1968. She married Harry Christian in 1969 and had two children. She is preceded in death by her second husband, married in 1975, Chris Sherry. They lived in La Porte and had three children before his passing in 1988. In 1988, she met Randy Cates and the two were inseparable from that point on. Randy & Jerry were together for over 34 years. They enjoyed traveling, boating, fishing and spending lots of time with their 21 grandkids.
Jerry was a fiercely dedicated and loving mom to all of her children, raising all 8 of them to go on to accomplish great things. Family came first and was above everything else to Jerry, a value she instilled in all those around her. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill.
Jerry was predeceased by her parents Buck & Ida Arnold, her granddaughter Britnee and many other loved ones. She is survived by husband Randy Cates, Children Melissa "Missy" (spouse Andy), Micah (Spouse Julei), David, Mandy, Christina, Christy, Michelle (Spouse Daniel II) and Sheree (Spouse Brandon). Her grandchildren TJ (Melanie), Devin, Jordan, Quentin, Elijah, Isaiah, Joseph, Landyn, Ian, Evan, Emma, Matthew, Kimball, Nathan, Elise, Daniel III, Konor, Ella, Mason and Madison. Jerry was also a lover of animals and nature. She had a bird named Kona, a beloved dog named Sissy that passed recently and her Grand dog Gunner that was lost without her. She loved painting, crafts, making jewelry, the beach and spending as much time with the Grandkids as she could.
