Thank you for joining us in celebration of Jeremy’s life.
Psalm 121: 1-2
I lift my eyes to the hills. From whence does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
23rd Psalm
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Romans 8: 35-39
Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will hardship, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written. No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor power, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
John 14: 1-3
Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God believe also in me. In my Father’s house, there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also.
When Jeremy was preparing for a liver transplant at the University of Washington Medical Center, he prepared various detailed instructions. He wrote he wanted his body to be cremated and the cremains divided equally between 4 boxes to be spread at later dates. They are to be spread at his family farm, the University of Montana campus, Glacier National Park, and at his best friend Matt Smith’s parents’ home near Sisters, Oregon. His instructions also included “any toast in my honor should be made only with non-alcoholic beverages”.
As an organ donor, Jeremy donated part of his eyes, so someone now has a chance to see.
Jeremy’s faith in Jesus Christ was extraordinarily strong and he wanted that for all he knew. We ask that you consider adopting that faith also, it is the best simplest deal of a lifetime.
The last words he said were, “I see something.” Angels coming to usher him to his heavenly home!
Shedding a tear is not weakness; it is a sign of compassion!
