Jeremiah always clung to hope…correction Hope. His hope wasn’t a longing, a wondering, it wasn't an action he had to do…it wasn't a verb, it was a noun, a Person: Jesus!

Hope is Alive

Hope is upon us, Hope is surrounding us.   Hope is secure my friend, Our Hope is most definite

Hope is Perfection, Hope is forevermore. Our Hope isn’t maybe, no way. Our Hope is the One we adore

Hope is alive, alive! Our Hope is Jesus Hopelessness died , yes died  the day He freed us

Our Hope is the Truth confessed, Hope is Word  made flesh,  Hope is with us: His name is Jesus

Not iffy, not maybe, not possibly some day, not perhaps

Unchanging, assuring, unwav’ring, enduring, not by circumstance

Not iffy, not maybe, not possibly some way, not perhaps; but a guarantee, signed in blood on Calvary

Hope is Alive…so is Jeremiah!

Garry Phillips
2025, MD Anderson Main Building, Holcombe Boulevard, Houston, TX, USA

From his hospital bed, the last day before he began to leave us, his heart full of love to all around him, he writes:

“Shout out to Meg Phillips. What a warrior she has been through this week. She didn’t leave my side for 4 days.. she is getting some much needed rest today and will be back in the morning. I can’t imagine having to watch someone go through what I’ve been through, and never losing hope. She is my rock and has pushed me through some of the hardest days I’ve ever faced in my life. Without her by my side I could never have handled this.

Shout out to my Mom Kathy Phillips and my Dad Garry Phillips for letting us stay with them to make our life’s easier while facing this huge obstacle. Without that I don’t know how we could have ever possibly survived this journey so far.

Shout out to Jenni Chapman for being able to drop everything she has going on in her insane schedule to help us with anything and everything, I have no idea how we could of possibly made it to md Anderson without her help and what she went through to get my drugs squared away. she worked her tail off when she was here. Love you sis!

Shout out to my cousin Kristina Petersen and her hubsand for coming and hanging with me so my wife could have a much needed break and get some much needed tlc.

Shout out to my second family, Jim Harvey and his wife, Suzie for being there in prayer, never losing hope, never giving up on us, and for trusting me with his daughter so many years ago when I was just a young punk with no real vision of what he wanted in life. You trusted me with your daughter, who you love more than anything, and have continued to trust me through all my flaws. I love you Mom and Dad.

As for everyone who has donated to us and provided prayers for our family thank you all. I again can’t fathom how I could have ever gotten through this storm financially without everything, everyone has provided so willingly. I am just at a loss of words on what else to say on the subject of people giving, especially when I know so many out there are struggling to pay their own bills and suffering through hard times in today’s world. I love you all so so much.

Cancer will try to take me, It will NEVER break me!”

He passed 7 days later. Cancer never did break him. He is healed!

We are saddened and missing him already, but rejoicing for him, for the healing, for the glory he is surrounded by, for not just being loved, but actually standing/kneeling in the presence of Love Himself.
🦋 Heaven has welcomed in one of the most fantastic heroes of this weary world, but we left here…will never be the same 💔😭 Praying for your family.
I am so very sorry for your loss.  You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. The short time I knew him, he was so kind. His tremendous faith in our Lord was truly amazing. He was an amazing young man of God! May his memory be a sweet blessing!
There are no words to describe how heartbroken I am. Jeremiah was my best friend. He was the one who was always there for me. The one I shared the good and the bad with. We were a team. Over the last two years, I watched him suffer a lot. He tried to keep that side from others because he was protecting their hearts. He was always a protector. Even from his hospital bed, he was still trying to protect me. He tried to make sure I went home to rest when I needed it. He would try to share his hospital food with me when he thought I hadn't eaten. I wouldn't let him; I made sure he always ate. But it broke my heart when he was so kind to me when he was in such a vulnerable state. There are few people as kind as Jeremiah. Before he died, he had a night when he felt like God was telling him it was all going to be okay. I thought that meant he would get through treatment, and we would see better days. It's hard to accept that it meant God was putting an end to his suffering. I take comfort in the fact that he is with Jesus, experiencing perfect peace and everlasting joy. Someday, I will see him again because Jesus defeated death at the cross. When I say he was my better half, I mean it. He was kindness and joy. It was an honor to be his wife and escort him through this part of his life. I kept my promise; I was with him through every single step. I held his hand when he breathed his last breath. My life will never be the same without him.

I had the privilege of working with Jeremiah for only a couple of months. He was the kind of person that made you feel welcome and as though you were part of his family from day one. He was kind and patient, amazing at his job, and a talented artist in many outlets. I will miss you very much, Jeremiah.
