Jeremiah's obituary

Jeremiah David Phillips

November 3, 1988 – May 29, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jeremiah David Phillips, who departed this life on May 29, 2025, at the age of 36, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. He passed peacefully, surrounded by love.

Jeremiah lived a life marked by compassion, faith, and quiet strength. A man of many talents, his career spanned law enforcement, construction, and the film industry, where he served as a skilled dolly grip. But beyond his work, Jeremiah was an artist at heart — a gifted photographer, painter, and musician. An incredibly talented drummer, his love for music was another way he shared his soul with the world.

He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Maegen Phillips, a cherished son to Kathy and Garry Phillips, and a loving brother to Jenni Chapman and Justin Phillips. He was also a proud and devoted uncle to his nephew, Jared Phillips, who brought him immense joy. Jeremiah leaves behind a wide circle of friends, both lifelong and new, who were drawn to his warmth, kindness, and generous spirit.

Jeremiah found joy in the simple and meaningful: capturing beauty through his camera lens, immersing himself in the Marvel universe, caring for his pets, playing music, and spending quality time with family and friends. He loved deeply and sincerely, and he made those around him feel seen, heard, and loved.

Above all, Jeremiah was a man of faith. A strong and steadfast Christian, he worshipped God throughout his life and held tightly to his beliefs even in the face of suffering. His unwavering spirit, humility, and grace were a testament to his character. Now, free from pain and embraced in eternal peace, Jeremiah has gone home to be with his Savior.

Jeremiah was a light in this world — kind, humble, and true. He made this world better simply by being in it, and his absence will be felt profoundly by all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on June 14, 2025, at Mountain Valley Church in Edgewood, New Mexico.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Jeremiah’s memory by extending kindness to someone in need — just as he would have.
