Jennifer's obituary

To all friends and family of Jennifer,

We are sorry to share that Jennifer passed away this past Tuesday afternoon, January 25th, 2022, in San Jose, California.  Cause of death is currently under investigation and could take some time before the cause is clearly known.   She leaves behind, yet now watches over:  her mother, 2 sisters, 3 children, and 6 grandchildren.

HONORING  HER  SPIRIT:

The path Jennifer chose in life was definitely not the easiest, but we would like to highlight some special things about her that many may not know unless you had the chance to be close with her.  As a youth, Jennifer was brilliant academically, always ahead of her grade level by years.  She displayed a gift in writing powerful poetry from a young age, moving anyone who read her poems.  Deep down, she was an activist at heart, supporting and celebrating our cultural lineages and movements, and often helping those in need on the streets.  She was spiritual, and in her unconventional way, she was somewhat of a Spiritual Teacher, challenging tough lessons in Unconditional Love, Compassion, and Understanding through the juxtaposition of a life-long struggle that often impacted those she loved the most.

May her Spirit finally be Free and at Peace as we return her ashes back home to Hawaii, as well as to our Ancestral Tribal lands of Mooningwanekaaning, aka Madeline Island, on the southern tip of Lake Superior in Wisconsin.

MEMORIAL FUND:

If you would like to contribute to the cost of laying Jennifer to rest with Respect, Dignity, and Love, the family has put together this fundraiser to help offset costs of her funerary expenses, as well as the family ceremonies of spreading her ashes. Anything above our goal will go to starting a savings account for her youngest teenage son. We extend our deepest heartfelt Gratitude for your support during this unexpected time of bringing family together.
