I'm glad I had the pleasure and experience of attending Benjamin School of Dance & Gymnastics. Ms. Jean was always stylish[with every color princess Reebok's known to man :)] and poised with great posture(I swear her feet naturally fell in 4th position.. lol). She showed us girls to be a lady and to "wash your ABCs" on your leotard. When I came across her at the mall about 6-7 years ago, she had the same perfume on during my Benjamin School days, it was so nostalgic!! :) ... God please help this family find peace and feel the love, AMEN.

I first met Jean as a teacher at Gregory Junior High School. I later found out she was dating my cousin, Russel. I have very fond memories of Jean as a teacher and then as part of my extended family. My prayers are with the family, Beverly and Russel with my deepest sympathy.

May the loving memories you have of your mother bring you comfort, peace and yes, joy!

Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this incredibly difficult time. I was deeply saddened to learn about the passing of our beautiful Jean.

Jean was truly an earth angel. Her warmth, kindness, and remarkable spirit touched the lives of so many, including mine. She had an extraordinary ability to make those around her feel valued and loved, and her presence in my life was a gift beyond measure. The impact she had on my life is immeasurable, and I will forever be grateful for the time we shared.

Although words can do little to console the pain of such a profound loss, please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May you find comfort in the cherished memories you have of Jean, and may these memories bring you peace and solace in the days ahead.

With deepest sympathy and all my love,

lidya

Mrs. Jean I consider my secon…
Mrs. Jean I consider my second family. Being under her in dance contributed greatly to who I am today.  She is so loved and I will miss her.
I was so sorry to hear about Jean's passing. She was such a beautiful person inside and out
May God comfort you all during this time of sorrow.
I'm completely heartbroken 💔 so I can't even phantom what You (Mrs. Velda) and the entire family are feeling at this very moment!! Some of the BEST MOMENTS/YEARS  of my life were spent at Benjamin's School of Dance & Gymnastics and especially during Parade and Recital Time!!!! I will always hold Mrs. Jean close to my heart! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for teaching my brother Justin Turner how to dance! I loved seeing him shine on stage at the annual recitals. Everyone in the crowd would cheer his name including myself. I saw him light up and become alive as a little boy when he danced at Benjamin. I hope and pray he begins to dance again as a man and liberates his spirit through this art form. Regardless, I appreciate the liberating force dancing has in us. Thank you to the  Benjamin Family for all the care, education, and  joy you all have brought to me, my family, and New Orleans.

Sending my deepest condolences, love, light and prayers to the entire family! I’m a friend of Beverly’s and I have a fond memory of staying at the Vappie’s home  during Mardi Gras while we were in college. Mrs. Jean was the ultimate hostess with the mostest and showed us a wonderful time. May she rest in peace.

Condolences to all family and friends. We would run into each other on occasion and always had pleasant conversations.  We attended Corpus Christi from 1st - 8th grades. I hope fond memories will sustain you now and in the future.

Ms. Benjamin taught us  how you could be smart, strong, beautiful and kind all at the same time.  She will be sorely missed but never forgotten. May her legacy live on through her family and students . 🧡

With deepest condolences to the family and all who loved her .💔
