How you can help

If you are able or so moved, we hope you can donate towards Jean's final expenses and medical bills. The extent of everything needing to paid has not yet been figured out. Please bear with us as we try to find and get everything sorted and debtors contacted.
She does not have a life insurance policy or final expense plan in place. The family will have to cover all expenses to lay her to rest and to clean and move her home, past due bills and other expenses and all the other things that are popping up as we dig more. Unpaid medical bills have not been fully explored yet as more providers are still being looked into. We will update all information as we learn more. Update from July 25, 2025

Thursday, July 31, 2025 - 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.

We will be having a Memorial Service for Jean at St Elizabeth Ann Seton. There will be a finger food reception following the service. We would love to offer this opportunity to everyone who knew Jean. Attending a memorial service is important as it offers a way to honor the deceased, begin the mourning process, receive and provide support to others, and celebrate the life of the departed. Our hope is that this service and reception can provide a communal space for expressing feelings, connecting with others who knew Jean, and beginning to find closure during a difficult time. Please RSVP in the event listing on this site so we know how many to plan for. Please extend this invitation to anyone who knew Jean incase I have not been able to contact them. Please share any memories in the memory tab of this site, I would love to see Jean's effect on the lives of others in this time of grief and remembrance. If you are able, please also consider donating to help us cover her final expenses. She did not have anything in place to assist with this.

It currently looks like the memorial service will be on July 31st possibly at 1 or 2PM at St Elizabeth Ann Seton in Plano. I will follow up when it is confirmed.

We regretfully announce the departure of Jean Matthews, who passed away at home on July 23, 2025. Born on February 6, 1954, Jean lived life how she saw fit to the fullest of her intentions.
