Janny was my Godmother. She helped to make my childhood magical! I always looked forward to seeing her for Christmas. I recall in the second grade that my Mother helped me make a “Star of David” for the top of our tree… to help Mike feel welcomed in our home. Both Janny and Mike came to my Christmas play at church that same year. I also flew to Colorado for two weeks (with my Mother) to see Janny and Mike. I remember their “A” frame house and they had neighbors who had a trampoline. We went to Pike’s Peak, Garden of the Gods, and Santa’s Workshop where I played tic tac toe with a chicken (and lost!!!).

Janny also sent monthly magazines to me such as “Ranger Rick.” I remember running to the mailbox and looking for those magazines, and reading every page!

Janny was such an amazing role model for me. She had a huge heart, which is how I will choose to remember her. My deepest condolences to Mike, Meghan, Beth, and families. May God’s comfort, which surpasses all human understanding, be with each of you.

Thanking God for the gift that Janny was to me, and that we will spend Eternity together!

I have so many fond memories of Jan! Such a caring and selfless soul! I remember the melted Tupperware in the oven and the cleanup that commenced because she was not buying a new one. I remember the tin cups of juice and cheese tortillas that she’d bring down to the basement for a snack while we were all so busy playing. Many trips to the Municipool for swimming, her spaghetti, the garden, and so many other precious memories! Please know that your families are in my heart during this difficult time. 💕

Jan would volunteer every week to walk with my preschool class of 14, to the downtown Colorado Springs library for storytime. We walked from the CC campus in every type of weather. I could not have done this without her dedication and caring attention to my preschoolers. She was so loving and patient I could not have asked for a better person to help me. She and Mike contributed time, love and education to many groups of children over the years. We all, children parents and teachers are better for having had her in our lives. Jan will be missed but NEVER forgotten.
