Jan was my Principal at Cypress Creek for 5 years. She was always supportive as I worked to build my Speech and Debate Program. She taught me so much about being a future Principal as well. When she first arrived at CCHS, she interviewed every staff member using pre-printed question cards in order to get to know us. It also helped us get to know her and her vision for our campus. My favorite memory though is when we moved to daily video announcements after adopting Channel 1 for students. Jan wanted a segment each day so that the students would also get to know her. Once she saw herself on TV, she was “horrified” about how she looked. That summer, she intentionally lost a great deal of weight and looked great. Jan was a classy, professional, warm leader with a charming humanity. I will miss this great lady and mentor.

She was my sociology teacher in high school, she really cared!
In response to "What always reminds you of Janice?"
I was blessed to have Mrs. Aragon as a teacher as I grew up in the Cy-Fair district many years ago. Even at a young age I recognized her as an exquisitely caring educator who was truly concerned about advancing her student's education, manners, and other social skills. Throughout my education she was one of the bright lights who instilled confidence in that quest. A first class lady and educator.

Although I did not know Jan very well, I was honored to spend four years teaching at her namesake school. She was revered at Aragon Middle School by everyone there who knew her.
After retirement it was a great pleasure to visit personally with Jan at several Cy-Fare meetings. Her charm and wit were delightful and infectious.
I send my sincere sympathy and condolences to all of you, her family and close friends who will miss her the most.
Ms. Aragon was a bright light in my Cy-Fair education. She was one of the reasons I chose to be an English and Creative Writing teacher for 40 years. In addition, she was always available for a chat and encouragement. You have chosen the perfect picture, for this is just the one I see in my memories. Magnificent silk blouses and perfectly elegant in dress and demeanor. She was a lady and a light in every way. God bless you all with peace.
