Janet's obituary
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Janet Rogers (81), beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. Born to Zella and John B. Gretzinger on February 2, 1943, in Omaha, Nebraska, Janet left us on March 27, 2024.
Janet was an accomplished pianist from a very young age, a composer and lover of music, and a pillar of strength and knowledge to her children, grandchildren, and friends. She will be remembered for her laughter, humor, courage, strength, sacrificial love, and unwavering faith in God.
She is preceded in death by her sisters, Bessie Mae Heater and Joanne Stephenson, her beloved daughter, Julianna Lynn Eaton (Rev. Scott Eaton), survived by her brother, John B. Gretzinger, Jr., her husband of 45 years, Scott Rogers, her son, Thomas Scheerer, daughter, Tami Russo, precious grandchildren Rocko M. Scheerer, Aysia Marshall (Nevin), Joseph Scheerer, Angelina Russo, Joshua Eaton, (Jessica) Alyssa Ellis (Michael), Nathan Eaton (Amanda), great-grandchildren, Julie Marshall, Aubree Eaton, Layla Eaton, Amelia Eaton, and cherished nieces and nephews.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember Janet's life will be held on April 13, 2024, at New Hope Baptist Church, 18000 Lexington Rd., Independence, MO. Visitation is at 12:30 P.M, funeral at 1:00 P.M.
