Janet was a constant companion in growing up in Paramount, riding our bikes, ice skating at Iceland, go to the Colorado River and celebrating many birthdays and holidays, especially Thanksgiving sitting at the kid’s table at Buster and Eleanor’s.

She was a lot of fun and I will remember her and all the wonderful times we shared growing up in the hood!

Cousin Molly

Rest In Peace Janet,
Love, Molly and Rich English

My deepest condolences to all of Janet's family.
Janet is my older cousin whom I loved ever so much. Being 8 yrs.older than me she was also my babysitter many times when we were younger. She loved coming down to Uncle Joe's house to watch my sister Helen and I. She was usually accompanied by her best friends Cinda or Nancy or cousin Louise. They'd have the radio up kinda loud playing music ,sitting in the living room smoking cigarettes(sshh!!don't tell) just talking and laughing. I remember laying in my bed at night trying to eavesdrop and hear every word they said. I idolized my big cousin Janet so much! I wanted to grow up and be just like her and rat my hair on top, wear a mini dress, and just be as fun and bubbly as she was. So many of my childhood memories are sculpted with her in them. Holiday dinners down at Uncle Buster & Aunt Elianors house, her being nice enough to allow me to hang out in her room when my dad would walk down to visit with Uncle Buster, many a camping trips with us, and years later when she married Gary the tables turned and now I was the babysitter.First to baby Krista and then to Kathy. You two girls really woke my eyes up as too what it was like to have a baby!! But I jumped at the chance to watch you girls. Partially because it meant I got to hang out with my cool cousin Janet. For many years in my adult life I lost contact with Janet,as with alot of my cousins. It seemed like after my dad passed we all just became ghosts. But recently,@3-4 yrs.ago Janet and I reconnected via FB..(gotta love the internet) and had stayed in contact with each other pretty often. The most recent being last week when it seemed she had gotten a little upset seeing her name in a post that I had tagged her in. The post was sarcastically funny about giving a nursing home hell after we all got in there and took over. Cinda got the joke,Louise got the joke,we all got the joke. But not my cousin Janet!! It took a couple of ribbings her way before she was like "oh!! I get it now"!!! I'm going to miss that about her. That "aha moment" that was sooo her!!! Rest in peace my cousin Janet, thank you for being my childhood. Jodie

To all the members of Janet’s family,
I am so sorry to hear of her passing.
There are many memories of visiting Jim, Janet, Uncle Buster and Aunt Elinor in Paramount. Mom and I would stay with Grandma Hyde, and all the cousins in the neighborhood would play, and go from house to house. Lots of fun.

Sincerest Regrets,
Cousin Pam Rhodes Leising and family
