I'm so sorry for the loss of Janet. Among many other things, she was a talented scrapbook 📔 artist and I'll always think of her whenever I see scrapbooking. She really touched my heart ❤️ when she made one especially for me. It’s called “work in progress” and it’s always on my tablecloth. It was in 2015, this summer I’ve decided to make a huge terrace, all made of wood, with a large rouf for the entire family: Michelle, Anaya and future Bastien 🥰 ❤️

She was there and she took loads of pictures during the construction !! When she came back a couple months after, she offered me this amazing and magnificent scrapbook 📔 of my DIY . She was really talented and this day she truly touched my heart. Each time I open this great book 📕 I think of her and I always will. Rest in peace Janet 🖤

Michelle's first birthday — with Virginia Grace
Janet and I experienced adopting infants from India at the same time.  Lots of paperwork and two trips to Olympia and mailing paperwork to Consulate of India in California.  Making homemade wall quilts representing the story of adoption was fun and helped time go till their arrival day.  Both girls arrived in same basket on July 8, 1984.  They are four days apart in age.  We included celebrating India Independence Day and their gotcha day for several years plus birthdays.  Since I knew Janet from 8th grade, we would never guess years later we had an adventure adopting as single parents.  It was Terry Grannis doing a photo shoot for a wedding when he met a guest with an infant from International Mission of Hope in India.  He mentioned it to Janet and working in the same hospital I heard it from Janet.  Registered for pre adoption meeting and 16 months later we were at Sea Tac Airport.  It may seem short but there was a time Cherie Clark who ran orphanage was being refused to renew her visa.  If that happened, orphanage would shut down.  So telegrams we’re sent to get her visa renewed.  It was exciting, but knew something could happen until the arrival day for Michelle and Erin.  Several years later came Myleah.   Cherie Clark wrote a book about her orphanage in Vietnam during the war with previews of book on India orphanage and final book returning to Vietnam in 1988.  However she could not write the book on India.  It is too painful.  We remained connected for several years with Kids in Need a network with adopted families and taught the girls to be proud of their culture and adopted family and friends.  Lucky were the children who were adopted from India.
It was so nice to see her at her 70th birthday party, along with her two daughters and many many friends. I’m glad to add that lasting memory of her to about 17 years of knowing her, and having her be a part of our family as our kids’ “aunt Janet“!
Janet was such a memorable woman. She loved you girls so much and was so proud of you. I think becoming a grandma made her almost burst at the seams with joy. I saw her up at providence a few years ago when she joined Patty and I for lunch. It was great to reconnect. Her love for Jesus was so evident and I know she’s in her daddy’s arms resting now. Thinking of you girls. So glad you were able to be with her in her final days on earth. Sending love

Janet's love for you, her cherished daughters and grandchildren was mighty! She treasured her times with you all, trips, pictures, and videos received long distance. She could often be seen rushing over to share the latest treasures with all who had a moment.

Janet also dearly loved her friends. Celebrating holidays and milestones, caring for others, and keeping traditions was of utmost importance.

Janet was a dedicated and compassionate volunteer. Having been through so much herself, it was very important to her to bring some hope and joy into the journey of others, especially at the cancer center.

Yes, life is hard. We all carry wounds we are working to overcome, and Janet had overcome much. Just know she loved you fiercely and wanted God's utmost best for you always.

 Blessings!
