I am so stunned and so sorry to hear that Janet is gone! Such an artist and such a delightful person. I met her when she played the young artist show I directed for Opera Theater Oregon back in 2006. Her work helped give those kids (all in their 30s now, many still performing) a real experience of artistry and professionalism. And she was so fun and hip. I worked with her again a number of times over the years. She was always a first choice--I knew I could count on her to make even something scattered more than the sum of its parts. My condolences to Janet's friends and family for your loss. We weren't close, but I think she was wonderful.

My heart breaks for Janet & her family. She was my accompanist for many of my performances, including my Junior Recital, during college! Janet was one of the most beautiful, talented, kind and passionate human beings I've ever known. She displayed an amazing level of sensitivity, warmth, and professionalism you would see in anyone. I still have so many warm memories of our time collaborating. This news is shocking. My prayers and condolences to her family.

This is absolutely heartbreaking. I will continue to remember Janet as a loving, incredibly funny, FUN, wonderful spirit who brightened up every interaction we had.

Sending my heartfelt condolences to her loved ones, especially my friends Julie and Adam. I am so sorry for your loss and will keep you in my prayers.

Janet, your joyful spirit will  never leave us. Rest well my friend.

So saddened to hear of this great loss.  I always remember Janet’s beautiful, loving smile, the sparkle in her eyes, amazing talent, and wonderful sense of humor!  My heart is with Julie, Donna, and all who loved her.  I know she will be dearly missed.
Janet and I cracking up durin…

Janet and I cracking up during a recording session. Janet: "that wasn't very BRAHMSY. I guess we will just call it an interpretation!"
Janet was an absolute beautiful person, inside and out. She always had the best spirits and we never had a moment together where we didn't e d up in laughter. Even after moving, I always kept in touch with her because she was such a powerful force in my life. The world is a little darker today without her. I'm so sad she is gone but I'm so incredibly blessed that I got to know her.
Dear Julie,  so sorry to hear this sad news about Janet.  I remember you telling me how much you enjoyed spending time with her.  And playing music together. She sounds like such a lovely fun person.  I will keep you and your family in my thoughts.  Love,  Russell
I have fond memories of working with Janet as a student learning the Franck sonata (I was learning it, she played expertly 💕) I’m so sorry to all of Janet’s loved ones, students, music community, and everybody who knew her!!!
Such a wonderful artist! This breaks my heart. She accompanied my singing many times, and she always had excellent technique, and gentle and helpful criticisms. If Lynne Siegel were here, she too would weep. Gwen Leonard will, as will many others.
