Jane's obituary

Mrs. Jane Edge Earick, age 83, of Uvalda died Monday afternoon, July 19, 2021, at her residence.  Mrs. Jane, or “Nina” as she was called by family, was born in Glenwood and lived most of her life there.  She and her husband Marcus moved to Uvalda in 2004.  She worked for many years as an administrative assistant for the Wheeler County Board of Education while also co-owning and working at Glenwood Red & White with her husband.  Once a resident of Uvalda, she became active at the Uvalda First Baptist Church as a member of the Happy Hearts Sunday School Class and as a kitchen helper, a task with other members she thoroughly enjoyed.  She was an avid gardener whose yard, like her, has always been incomparable.  She was constantly working in her yard or in her home and shopping with her daughters and grandkids, but she could never be found taking a break. However, most importantly, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.  Jane is preceded in death by her parents, Ewing Paul Edge and Ruby Margaret Screws; her brother, Paul Edge; and her husband, Marcus.

Jane is survived by her two daughters, Ericka Clark and her husband Ben of Uvalda and Tracey McCorkle and her husband Vance of Buena Vista; five grandchildren: Chloe Pickle and her husband Chris, Forrest Clark, Lillie McCorkle, Lucie McCorkle, and Lila Jane McCorkle; two great-grandchildren, Caroline and Bentley Pickle; and five stepchildren: Karen Smith of Milledgeville, Kathy Snyder and husband Robert of Haddock, Karol Garner and husband Ronnie of Sandersville, Marcus Kenyon Earick, Jr.,  and wife Teresa of McIntyre, and Lawrence Kenyon Earick of McIntyre.

A graveside funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 22nd, at Edge Memorial Cemetery in Glenwood with Pastor Adrian Bell officiating.

The family will receive friends at the cemetery on Thursday from 9:00 until just prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered to the Vision 2020 fund at the Uvalda First Baptist Church, PO Box 56, Uvalda, GA 30473.
