When I was a little girl , my dad would carry me on his shoulders. It felt like I was on top of the world. He always seemed to be the biggest man in the room. He made me feel safe and protected. He loved to tell stories about his life. He taught me about Jesus, and how important it is to forgive. He taught me how to drive and how to travel. He would say things like, “Daylight in the swamp.” Musty have some more.” and “If you miss, it’s as good as a mile.” My heart is broken over all he went through with Parkinson’s. I missed him before he was even gone. ♥️ 🌹

Dear Grandpa, Thank you. Thank you for everything you have taught me, shown me and all the love you gave me. I can never express just how much having you as my grandfather shaped me into the person I am today. From fishing when I was little, playing Annie I Over at the cabin, our walks in the woods, and really just eating candy while you took me hunting out at the tree stand. You taught me how to swing a hammer, mow the lawn to perfection and how to drive a car. You were always there when I needed support, whether it was during my cheerleading days and driving me to practices, or while I was a young mom needing family to help me while I went to college and worked full time. I could always count on you, no matter what I ever went through you were always the strength I needed. Learning how to live life without you has been extremely difficult these past couple years as your health severely declined due to Parkinson’s Disease. It is a nasty disease that I will forever wish you wouldn’t have had to suffer with. But, before it took you over- I was so grateful that I was able to spend all the time with you one on one, be by your side and hear your stories. I know that you were proud of me, happy for me and that you will forever be a part of me. So grandpa, Even tho losing you and grandma is the hardest thing I’ve faced yet. I know I’m going to be okay because all my life you both showed me how to be strong, resilient and how to stand up even in the darkest of times. I will forever and always love you. Rest In Peace ♥️
