Jim's obituary

It's with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of a devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather, James "Jim" Taylor. Born on July 25, 1942, Jim left us on October 29, 2023, leaving an imprint of his kind heart on all who knew him.

Jim was known for his quick wit and honesty. His authentic, straightforward approach endeared him to many, making him a beacon of truth and integrity in every setting. Jim's commitment to living in accordance with his values saw him devote his working life to organizations that mirrored his ethics, a commitment that he retained until his final days. His relentless dedication was admired and will serve as an inspiration for those who knew him.

As a father, Jim was a beacon of support and love. His presence was a constant source of comfort and guidance for his children and grandchildren. He was exceptionally proud to be able to communicate in his wife's mother tongue, a testament to his respect and admiration for her heritage. Yet, in typical Jim fashion, he never boasted about this accomplishment. It was a quiet pride that he held close, earning him true respect.

His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, especially his children. For his colleagues, he was more than just a fellow worker; he was a friend, a confidant, and a leader who led by example. For his family, he was a pillar of strength and love, a wise advisor, and most of all, an adored father and grandfather.

Jim Taylor was indeed an Inuk at heart. His respect and reverence for the Inuit culture endeared him to many. Jim was a kind man who was always there for his loved ones, leaving a long-lasting legacy of love, respect, and dedication. His memory will forever be cherished by those whose lives he touched.
